14/08/2008 4:48:00 PM
This months yarding consisted of mainly plainer types with only a few pens of better finished young steers and heifers, but generally most categories met stronger competition consistent with trends experienced at other centres in the South.

Buyers came from Cooma, Moruya, Milton, Moss Vale, and Wagga with some good strong local district buying support.

Billaglen Pastoral Co yarded 15 Angus steer yearlings and 6 Angus Heifers which had been finished on the crop. Their top pen of 8 steers sold to 211 cents per kg and came back at $688.70.Their 6 heifers sold to 213 cents per kg and came back at $685.22.

Mathew and Amanda Flack sold 5 Angus heifers with Angus calves at foot for $875; these were purchased by Terry Baumann, Bombay. A subsequent pen of 2 sold for $790. The Flack family also sold the top price cow for the day; this was for a Limo/Hereford cross cow weighing 730kg and came back at $1007.40.
